Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann
presented a journey
through 500 years of Ireland’s History through Irish traditional music and song
The performance was introduced by Siobhán Ní Chonaráin. Siobhán is acknowledged for her knowledge of the history of Irish traditional instrumental music and song and has produced many of Comhaltas national and international concert tours.
The performers included Mary Kelly (harp), Lauryn Breathnach (fiddle),
Seán Ó Sé (whistle) and Siobhán Ní Chonaráin ((flute) and the repertoire for the performance included pieces such as O’ Sullivan’s March, Miss Hamilton, O’ Breathe Not His Name, The Independence Hornpipe, which are interconnected with key events and periods in Irish history
